Gawr Gura Quest for Bread Room types in Quest for Bread
An atlas of habitats, not a forty-page dungeon map.
Quest for Bread is linear enough for a walkthrough, but that walkthrough is a story line, not a cartographer’s atlas. This page names room types already visible in public footage: lava fortress, Calliope concert, torii dialogue, starry canyon. It will not invent unpublished titles or a dungeon map. Steam app 2054520 shipped on 27 August 2026 as a single-player title with English UI, Steam Deck Verified, and about two hours of campaign. Older locales sometimes said three hours; shipped English and TapTap copy is about two hours plus hats and speedrun. Hats live off the grey path. Recognise a palette, then play.
How to read a habitat
Grey rock over orange magma is a movement exam. Packed cyan skulls are a named fight. A wet platform under a red torii is rest. A star-washed canyon is a long fall with a different camera tax. When the colour changes, reset habits with How to Play and the controls sheet. Do not treat every Myth face as a health bar; characters and the boss guide exist so this atlas does not have to.
The Next Fest video in the middle is real lava-slice gameplay. Use it as a look at stage language, not as a full-game map.
Lava fortress
Grey rocks, orange magma, a torch on a taller block, white optional spheres off the obvious path, Gura’s portrait HUD with two bars. Kenny’s Next Fest note promised a lava fortress, a cool boss, and a hat or two, which is why this room dominates public clips.
Orange is death. Grey is life. Off-grey is optional until grey is automatic. The white sphere near Gura’s feet is hunt grammar even if it is an orb rather than a hat. If you cannot see the landing, skip it, tick the hat tracker, and stay on the story line. Save-anytime means a cosmetic is never worth a magma funeral. The hat guide wants greedier lines only after this exam is boring.
Calliope concert
Cyan skull platforms in rows, pink light columns in the air Gura wants to jump through, a red throne, a bar labelled Mori Calliope. That is an arena, not a hallway with extra HP, and not a millinery shop until the named bar is gone.
Enter cyan-healthy. Watch one telegraph cycle. If the bar leaves the screen, stop attacking and fix the camera. After the kill, turn around once — boss rooms hide hats — then leave. Other Myth faces appear without bars. Steam sold unique bosses; footage prints this name in letters you cannot miss.
Torii dialogue
Wet platform, red torii, Gura, Amelia Watson, and Ninomae Ina’nis. The box jokes that someone knew their pickle was the interdimensional variety. The trident sits on the floor. This is rest: mash, laugh, pick the weapon up mentally, walk. Cameo, not boss. A hat can still hide on a wet edge after you mash; tick C if you looked. Do not turn a punchline into a combat guide.
Starry canyon
Star-washed sky, long falls, a little roofed well, coral-coloured plants in some shots. Tracker hunts mention the well or a roof, not the obvious walk. Lava camera habits do not transfer: magma punishes looking down too long, the canyon punishes never looking down, because the death plane is air. Hidden landings stay greedy when the kill is a fall.
Off the grey path
Conservative line: campaign. Greedy line: millinery. Night one skips unseen landings. Night two opens the 100% checklist beside the tracker and sweeps by type, not by invented names. This wiki will not print a fake millinery list or unpublished titles. Until a Steam guide names a room, the description is the name: lava torch pillar, Calliope walk-out skull, torii wet edge, canyon well roof.
Getting lost is usually missing a hat, not missing the exit. Name the habitat — magma, concert, torii, canyon — then take the next grey landing. This atlas is a field notebook, useful only while the colour is confusing. Once you can tell magma from a concert from a pickle rest from a canyon well, put the notebook down: the two-hour file on app 2054520 is the map. Index: Guides Hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for first-time shark pilots and 100% hunters.
Is this a full stage-by-stage map?
No. It is an atlas of room types from public footage. Door order lives in the walkthrough.
Is the YouTube video the whole campaign?
No. It is Next Fest demo gameplay, useful for lava looks, not a full-game map. The campaign released 27 August 2026.
Where do hats hide in these rooms?
Off the grey path. Use the hat guide and the hat tracker. Do not invent unpublished names.
