Gawr Gura Quest for Bread Quest for Bread guides
Everything from first install to hats, bosses, and speedrun mode.
Gawr Gura: Quest for Bread is a short 3D action-platformer, so the wiki is organised around a first clear, then collectibles, then a dedicated speedrun. Use this hub as the map: each linked page answers one search intent instead of repeating the same pep talk.
The game released on Steam on 27 August 2026. Kenny Park developed it; holo Indie published it. Steam lists roughly two hours of campaign, acrobatic platforming, simple combat, unique bosses, silly hats, and a dedicated speedrun mode. It is a single-player title with full controller support, Steam Cloud, save-anytime accessibility, and Steam Deck Verified status. The in-game interface is English only.
If you just bought the game, start with Getting Started. That page covers install, Steam Deck, the first settings pass, and what the HUD is telling you. Then read How to Play so jump, spin, and trident spacing feel intentional instead of accidental. Footage of the lava fortress shows Gura on a narrow rock with a glowing trident while two resource bars sit under her portrait — that is the loop the rest of the wiki assumes.
The story hook is simple on purpose. Gura loses a baguette at home, Amelia Watson tries a time-travel fix, and the jump goes wrong. You play the stranded shark through colourful, joke-heavy stages. Hololive knowledge helps you catch cameos, but Steam is explicit: you do not need stream lore to finish. A captured in-game scene shows Gura, Amelia, and Ninomae Ina’nis talking on a torii platform; another fight labels the boss bar Mori Calliope. Those are the kinds of Myth appearances the boss guide and walkthrough call out without spoiling every punchline.
Campaign first, 100% second
Quest for Bread is short enough that players often try to grab every hat on the first run and then get tilted in lava. Do not do that. Clear movement first. Learn which ledges are safe, which orange floors kill you, and how long a spin actually hangs in the air. After one story clear, open the hat guide and the hat tracker and sweep stages with a checklist.
Bosses are the other spike. Steam markets “unique and challenging boss fights.” The Calliope encounter in circulating footage is a concert-floor arena with a named health bar, skull platforms, and pink light columns — a different skill test from the lava fortress’s geometry. Rank difficulty in the boss tier list after you have died enough to have an opinion.
Speedrun and extras
When the campaign feels small, that is by design. Kenny said during development that a solo side project would not be a long game, and the shipped Steam copy settled on about two hours plus hats and a dedicated speedrun mode. Demo runners already posted sub-three-minute lava-fortress times; the speedrun guide explains how the mode differs from a casual story file.
Use the review if you are still on the fence about the $8-ish launch price, the launch notes for store facts, and the demo notes if you played Next Fest and want to know what carried over. Tools live under Tools Hub so you can tick hats and the 11 Steam achievements without hunting forum posts.
How this wiki is laid out
Every guides page links to siblings in the same dropdown. If a sentence sends you to hats, bosses, or speedrun, that destination exists. We do not invent unpublished hat names or fake YouTube IDs. Where a collectible has no public name yet, the page tells you how to hunt it and points at the tracker so you can fill names yourself.
Official channels stay on Links: Steam app 2054520, Kenny Park on X, the playtest Discord that stayed attached to the store page, and holo Indie. This site is a fan wiki, not Cover Corp.
Extra pages on this hub
The desktop Guides dropdown keeps seven entries plus a View-all link once the list grows. Controls is the bind sheet (keyboard, pad, Deck). Characters indexes Gura, Amelia, Ina, and Calliope — the store promised five Myth cameos; circulating footage has not named Takanashi Kiara. World is the room atlas: lava fortress, concert, torii, starry canyon. Hardware lives under system requirements. The 100% loop is the checklist. Open those from here if they fall off the panel.
